Dr. Chia qualified as a dentist at Guy's Dental Hospital in 1998, obtaining a Bachelor of Dental Surgery Degree with Distinction. He was awarded a number of clinical and academic prizes during this time. Following hospital posts in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery, Restorative Dentistry and Paediatric Dentistry, he received his membership to the Royal College of Surgeons of England in 2001.

Dr. Chia is an accredited specialist and is on the specialist register for Orthodontics at the General Dental Council. He is a member of the British and European Orthodontic Societies. Dr. Chia is also a hospital based Consultant Orthodontist in London. He has published scientific papers and presented his research at National and International Orthodontic conferences. He is also a contributing author and reviewer for a number of National and International journals. He is involved in teaching Orthodontics at postgraduate level and actively lectures to postgraduate students and the wider dental community. He has an active role with the Royal College of Surgeons of England, as an examiner.

Dr. Chia enjoys surfing and hiking with his family.
